Initial Discussions Regarding Possible Offer


Readymix plc (“Readymix”), the Irish subsidiary of CEMEX S.A.B. de C.V. (NYSE: CX) (“CEMEX”), confirms that, following approaches received from third parties, it is in discussions which may or may not lead to an offer for the entire issued share capital of Readymix, which currently trades on the Irish Stock Exchange.  Discussions are at an early stage and there can be no certainty that they will lead to an offer for Readymix, nor as to the terms on which an offer, if any, might be made.
 
A further announcement will be made when appropriate.
